Jaroslav Jezek (1906 – 1942) was one of the most
original personalities of the Czech music avant-garde
before the last war. A major part of his output as a
composer, were the compositions and songs for the
musical comedies performed by the Liberated
Theatre of Prague. Many were written and
performed in jazz idiom of the time. Ježek’s talent
for a strong melodic line and original harmonies is
self-evident in his work so much so that many of
these songs became local jazz standards.
Koncert v pražském Rudolfinu ke 100. výročí
narození Jaroslava Ježka představil nejen nové
skladby Milana Svobody, Karla Růžičky st. a Emila
